Project Details

The Great Lakes Leadership Academy (GLLA) provides intensive leadership training for professionals in food systems/agriculture, natural resource/environmental, and business/manufacturing sectors. The GLLA prepares a diverse group of leaders to become active, effective stewards of Michigan's natural resources and advocates for strategies that support sustainability. This program helped participants to improve their leadership knowledge, skills, and abilities. Participants learned in non-traditional settings that included outdoor experiences, engagement of resource professionals, and "issues teams.” After completing the program, participants stated they learned a great deal about leadership, which will allow them to shape the future of Michigan by improving their organizations and communities.
