Project Details

The goal of the 110 member Healing Our Waters - Great Lakes Coalition (HOW), co-founded by National Wildlife Federation and the National Parks Conservation Association, was to improve the health of the Great Lakes by addressing historic stresses and preparing for new challenges. HOW's "Implementing Great Lakes Restoration" project provided support to local groups to begin successfully implementing the Great Lakes Restoration Coalition (GLRC) strategy to restore the health and resiliency of the Great Lakes. HOW successfully completed the project as originally intended by building a small grants program that administered capacity building grants to local organizations to do restoration work throughout the Great Lakes region.
