Project Details

Discovery Pier partnered with Michigan United ConservaƟon Clubs, Inland Seas EducaƟon AssociaƟon, and the Northwest Michigan Fishing Club to develop the Discover Fishing at the Pier Program. UƟlizing the newly renovated Discovery Pier on West Grand Traverse Bay, this program introduces northwestern Michigan youth to the Great Lakes fishery through handson workshops which include Great Lakes food web exploraƟon, basic fishing skills, fish idenƟficaƟon, and stewardship. A total of 104 youth and 73 supporƟve adults parƟcipated in four programs between 2023 and 2024.
