2026 Habitat Protection and Restoration

Habitat protection and restoration
Deadline:

The Great Lakes Fishery Trust (GLFT) invites proposals for projects through its Habitat Protection and Restoration focus area. This request for proposals (RFP) process will be used for the disbursement of up to $1,300,000 in 2026. The goal of the GLFT’s Habitat Protection and Restoration grant category is to preserve essential habitat; protect, restore, and stabilize important fish habitats; and increase habitat availability. The GLFT pursues these efforts through direct investment in specific places with degraded or vulnerable habitat through connectivity enhancements. Funding is distributed through a combination of funder-directed and competitive grants.

Applications are due by Friday, February 20, 2026, at 5:00 PM EST
